Tripping on Woodstock

Tripping on Woodstock

Tripping on Woodstock is an existential experience of a time traveling romp back to that counter-cultural turning point, Woodstock 1969.

Abducted from the present, Paul Stewart is given an insider’s glimpse into a time traveler’s sub-culture, he never knew existed. From the roguish time traveler Shawn and his friends, Paul learns an often overlooked fact about time travelers; they don’t only come from the future. And even as peaceful as Woodstock 1969 was, it turns out to be one of those touchstone events that attracts time travelers from myriad eras, even those who see each other as enemies in a time war threatening to unravel the very fiber of space and time. As Paul finds himself embroiled in the tangle of time and the play of various alternate time lines, he doubts if he’ll ever be able to simply return to his own time and place.

Then you’ll follow Paul Stewart on his next temporally discontinuous incident in the bonus short, “Across From the Grassy Knoll”.

First in the Time Tripping Series, Tripping on Woodstock, and the bonus short, Across From the Grassy Knoll introduces you to the point of view character, Paul Stewart, and a growing cast of time travelers.

Based on a dream I had, while writing “Tripping on Woodstock”, I wrote the short piece of flash fiction, which is not long enough to consider a sequel, but it does follow this story as the next temporal adventure of Paul Stewart. I considered including it as an epilog to this story, and then contemplated it as a prolog to this story’s actual sequel, a work already in progress. Finally, I decided to simply include it as the bonus short presented with “Tripping on Woodstock”, for my readers and fans. It really isn’t an epilog to this story, nor is it a prolog to the next, but a separate short piece of flash fiction filling in the space/time gap between “Tripping on Woodstock”, and the next story in the Time Tripping series, “Tripping on a Shift”. Time trips on.

Tripping on Woodstock is an immersive experience. It was almost like being there. The characters are fun and intriguing. I’m left wanting more adventures with these characters. Bring on the sequel. ~ D. Edward Jones
